Canadian International Auto Show is back in 2023 after the Covid-19 outbreak just like every other auto show.
And this time Canadian International Auto Shows saw a record-breaking attendance that the organizers didn’t even imagine.
It ran from the 17th to the 26th of February at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Toronto became the center of upcoming super and futuristic cars revelation. Lots of well-known automakers and new ones debuted to exhibit their finest products.
Over the past years, the show has been better attendance than ever. Hyundai’s RN22e concept made its auto-show debut on media day and it stole the show.
Apart from that, others include Canadian-made Project Arrow; a never-before-seen LEGO Technic Lamborghini Sián FKP 37; and an indoor EV test track.
There were a bunch of other concept cars and revelations took place at the event. Let’s dig into it.
Canadian International Auto Show 2023 – Worth Attending
Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS), officially returned with a bang and claimed everything. Since 1974, CIAS has been held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and several top brands became part of it.
This year various Canadian debutants also participated such as the Canadian Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association’s (APMA) Project Arrow; favorites like the Cobble Beach Classics (this year presenting “75 Years of Porsche”); and Auto Exotica.
At the global auto-show reveal Hyundai stunned everyone with their new concept car. They have revealed N Vision 74 and RN22e. Fun fact, both of them were already revealed online last summer, but neither of the “rolling labs” is likely to enter production, so this might be your best chance to see them.
RN22e & N Vision 74 Specs
The RN22e is based on the new Ioniq 6, with lightweight printed parts, twin-clutch torque vectoring, and dual electric motors making 577 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque off a 77.4-kWh battery.
On the other hand, N Vision 74 has a unique combo of a plug-in battery and a hydrogen fuel cell powering twin electric motors feeding 670 horsepower and 664 lb-ft to the rear axle.
APMA’s Project Arrow – Next Big Thing
Apart from Hyundai, APMA’s Project Arrow became the center of attention for all the Canadians out there.
APMA built the electric concept vehicle, Project Arrow, pretty much as a class. Last year at Consumer Electric Show, APMA Project Arrow debuted and it was the first Canadian EV.
According to Driving.ca, the final vehicle, expected to debut in 2025, will be around C$60,000, with a run rate of 50,000 units manufactured per year.
