It shouldn’t happen until Michael Leiters took over as CEO last summer. With his arrival in the company as the new CEO, he changed the dynamic and strategies to create McLaren a versatile brand in the automobile world.

Eventually, it’s about business and SUVs are not the luxurious cheesecakes that everyone desire to taste it.

Even Ferrari, one of the biggest automobile industries in the world has also followed the trend and built the Purosangue.

Up till now, McLaren didn’t reveal the name of the SUV and will join the growing list of sports/luxury car brands that make SUVs.

It’s not going to be a standard or usual SUV. McLaren’s upcoming SUV will be more than a family car with diluted sporting credentials.

Leiters himself made it clear that the new SUV will still retain the brand’s DNA.

McLaren Will Focus On Comfort & Luxury

Unlike any other McLaren vehicle, the upcoming SUV will be more comfort and luxury-focused.

Although, McLaren wouldn’t compromise on speed and it will deliver at least 700 HP. Now the big question is when it will arrive or say released.

The SUV will be announced in late 2024 and it should be ready by 2025 or 2026 at the latest.
